Dermatology can be challenging. Many skin conditions share similar clinical signs and a careful work-up is needed to get a diagnosis and arrive at a treatment plan. This involves piecing together information from the patient history, clinical examination and results of diagnostic procedures. It is helpful to understand your main concerns, hopes and expectations as an owner, so that we can work together as a team. I will go through everything with you that we are doing and why. It is important to understand at the outset that there are few ‘quick fixes’ to skin disease and many do require a structured investigation and ongoing management.
